We Bee With It
This bee started as a modern bee, hence the name With It (dorky but it fits..lol) Nonetheless, traditional blocks are welcome too since modern fabrics and colour combinations can make some of the oldest blocks the new modern "IT" block. At the end of 6 month you will have 10 blocks plus 2 you make on your own for a total of 12 blocks. Block size is up to 12.5 bigger blocks will be accepted if the group agrees. Open internationally.

Bee’s helping Bee’s!
Is a pet project of mine it started after I took part in a bee were only 2 people sent me blocks.
It happens, life gets in the way or people get in over their sewing heads and drop out never to be heard from again. This of course got me thinking even more....how many fellow bees’ are out the missing blocks. Do they make the remaining blocks themselves or like me have orphan blocks sitting around. By now the little hamster in my head was getting a real work out and just as the little guy was about to give in a light bulb went off.

What if I created a flickr group where people missing blocks could post the blocks they are missing and other people would help them out and vice versa. So I thought what the heck...create it!

So here is the site.
 http://www.flickr.com/groups/beeshelpingbees/
**** You don't have to be in a bee to take part. Like making blocks and what to help out. feel free to join. Have a quilt that you need help finishing. Feel free to join too! this is all about helping people turn those orphan blocks into quilts******

Here is what you have to do
1. Click on the link above and join the group

2. Open a discussion thread and post a pic of block you had requested a long with a tutorial on how to make the block, colour requirements and any other information you feel is relevant to making the block. Then you post the number of blocks you are missing.
Post what kind of blocks you would be able to help someone out with

Other bee’s that have joined the site looking for help can then peruse through the pics/threads and see which blocks they would like to help out with.  Once you have linked up with someone or a few someone’s and made arrangements to get blocks done your blocks will be marked as DONE and removed from the group. The thread will remain open so you and your new helper bee’s can communicate.

Now here is all the fine print

If you are posting blocks you are missing you must at least make one other block for someone else in the group. If this doesn’t happen you will be removed from the group
Once someone has agreed to make blocks for you whether they actually make them or not is a risk you have to take I will not be hunting down “missing blocks”. If someone does agree to make blocks and then is a no show they will be removed from the group. In this case you can repost your blocks.
All time limits are for you to decided

If you would like to take part here is the button to put on your blog
